Candle Burning Instructions and Tips:
How to care for your soy wax candles. Candle Burning Instructions and Tips for all natural soy candles from CJs Candle Creations.
-
Never leave a candle burning unattended.
-
Keep burning candle away from anything that can catch on fire.
-
Trim wick ¼” inch before burn cycle.
-
Keep lit candles away from children and pets. Please be aware that some birds
and other pets are sensitive to fragrance oils. If you have a bird in your house
we suggest not burning a candle in the same room with the bird.
-
Always burn candles on a heat- resistant surface in the proper size holder or
on a non-flammable base.
-
Discontinue burning of a container candle when ½” inch of unmelted wax remains,
this will avoid glass breakage or heat damage. Candles can get hot- therefore
do not place directly on any plastic surface such as your TV.
-
Keep candles free of wick trimmings or other debris to prevent excess flaming
and smoking.
-
Do not place a hot, container candle on any cold surface as the container could
crack or break.
-
We recommend the use of candle snuffers to extinguish our candles to prevent
excessive smoking and possible splattering.
-
Burn candles away from drafts. Air vents, open window, ceiling fans, and open
doors. All create air movement that will cause the flame to smoke or uneven burning
of the candle.
-
As with any product containing fragrance, an allergic reaction is always possible.
If you experience any breathing or sneezing problems, discontinue use. Provide
adequate ventilation if you are burning multiple candles.
-
Always read and follow manufactures instructions carefully.
Care and handling tips
* Keep your candles in a cool and dry environment. Direct sunlight may
cause them to fade.
-
Left over wax can be easily removed out of the bottom of the container. Simply
scrap all remaining wax out of the bottom of the container. Use hot soapy water
to clean the rest of the container.
-
Use toenail clippers to trim wicks that you can’t reach with scissors.
-
If a wick becomes to short to light, carve away enough wax to expose the fresh
wick, then trim ¼’ inch off the top of the candle and burn the candle to reform
its appearance.
-
Crooked burning: If wick moves off center, use a butter knife to gently push
it back to the center. If there is a draft, rotating the candle can help.
-
We use a 100% cotton core wick in our candles to prevent spitting and sputtering
of the candle when it burns.
-
When burning your candle for the first time, burn it for an hour per inch in
diameter of the candle, to promote even burning. For instance, a 4” candle should
be burned for 4 hrs the first time burning or until the wax pool covers the entire
candle. This will prevent coring.
-
Trim the carbon ball off the wick often. This is called a mushroom head. It
prevents the candle from emitting the smell.
-
Upon cooling of the soy candle you may notice bumpiness across the top of the
candle. This is a normal characteristic of the type of wax it is. It will not
hurt anything.
-
Candles don’t just cover orders. They burn off the tiny odor particles that
permeate the air.
-
When burning floater candle place them in warm water to extend burn time.
